DVD from Europe
This DVD came from England. A message came up on my Bluray & on my DVD player & on my computer that this DVD doesnt play on these devices. On my Bluray the color shows Purple, not blue or gold. Took a long time to get thru customs right now also. I didn't realize that there were differences in European devices & USA players. Was cheaply priced so won't bother with returning.

Better Than Ocean's Twelve ...
Let's face it: Clooney and company owed moviegoers after the debacle that was "Ocean's Twelve." Seeking to reclaim the cool factor of their "Ocean's Eleven" remake, the boys return for another adventure in high-stakes thievery. Back for the heist is Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), while Ocean dames Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones have been replaced with Ellen Barkin. Also along for the ride is the unflappable Al Pacino, doing of course what we does best: playing a character full of greed and bile. While "Ocean's Thirteen" certainly makes up for "Ocean's Twelve," it doesn't quite capture the spirit of the original. Clooney and his co-stars seem tired out — an indication, perhaps, that the series has gotten a bit long in the tooth. Did audiences need a third Ocean's movie? Probably ... Ocean's 13 should be called Ocean's 11.3
Well not that great. The story is entertaining and simple enough. Ocean's 13 are all about the cast of characters, their chemistry together, and their interactions with each other. Returning director Steven Soderbergh excitedly plays and toys with the camera with different angles, different kinds of shots, wide variety of lengths of shots, and even borrowing a technique that was made famous in Fight Club. While its nothing experimental, Soderbergh does a good job showcasing a story using a variety of techniques so the movie never even considers looking stale. Completing the directing is a sort of old-school vibe that accompanies the soundtrack. It begins to look so dated that you might expect even Sinatra to make an appearance. Pacing is what turn-off some moviegoers, and pretty much what ... Well not that great. The story is entertaining and simple enough. Ocean's 13 are all about the cast of characters, their chemistry together, and their interactions with each other. Unlike recent third installments, the pacing here remains consistent, and for the most part works well. The majority of Ocean's 13 is setting up the grand scheme, which ranges from an underground bunker in Nevada to a factory in Mexico. The third act is when the plan starts getting off the ground, and the payoff is definitely great for the audience and the lucky cast of gamblers unaware of what is about to unfold. Bottom Line: Despite some missing members of before (where'd all the women go?) Ocean's 13 is good and everything that made the original a surprise smash. The chemistry among the crew remains intact, but now we have a different story to follow, and a better heist to capture on film. Capturing all the merriment is Soderbergh, who once again excels in putting his distinct methods of film-making to good use as he contributes a dosage of style, color and old-school flavor to the movie. The ending leaves the door open for more, and as long as they remain as entertaining as this, why shouldn't we continue the series? Clooney, Damon, and especially Brad Pitt seem to have a lot of fun robbing people and screwing around. Whatever happened to the good-ol' days of classic, one-track storytelling anyway? 13 had nothing surprising. So 13 is just 11 all over again which should have been called 11.3

Who doesn't like to see a casino heist?? Its great to see a casino owner get the shaft!! lord knows they do it to us EVERYDAY. Al Pacino is GREAT as the villian in this film (Andy G is still ruthless). The cast was great, each doing what they do best to complete this gang of theives. The movie was quick pace and didn't skip a beat. The BIG step up actor this time around - Matt Damon. Big letdown in the 3rd installment, ELLEN BARKIN!! although she had BIG shoes to fill as a female actress (Kathrine Zeta-Jones & Julia Roberts ) Her character trys to hard to be tough as nails - DOESN"T Work!! 3rd installment is Very Good. I loved Ocean's 11 and I liked Ocean's 12. Ocean's 13 was not that great. First off the premise itself was a little over the top - it is one thing planning a heist, another to plan a heist with every table, every slot winning and the house losing (no, I am not giving out any secrets here). This is an ambitious attempt (daring?), but then everything seems to fall in place so easy. And it just doesn't have the same feel of thrill, suspense, excitement whatever.
