Resident Evil 3 was originally released on the Playstation 1 in 2000 and was hailed as a classic, though playing 11 years later it seems to be in the shadow of Resident Evil 2 which to many minds had the better story and was a lot longer This is a straight port which means that it hasn't been upgraded graphically for Gamecube nor does it have any extra features of note. It would have been great if they had of done what they did for The released Resident Evil which was upgraded graphically and the had new gameplay but stayed loyal to the original story. The game itself as plenty to recommend with the nemesis chasing you around raccoon city, zombies and dogs to defeat and every turn and a whole host of Giant creatures and monsters to defeat. The puzzles are challanging enough and the gameplay is enjoyable. Game is short though compared to modern and even gamecube game lengths with about 4 to 5 hours required to complete. The story is good but pales compared to Resident Evil 1 and 2's storylines. I would definely recommend this if you havn't played it before and love horror and/or action games. However if you have already played it on the playstation then I wouldn't recommend buying it for the Gamecube.Read full review

I thought the graphics would mirror the res evil original that Nintendo revamped. Disappointed to find it was not the case. Still a fun game to play though. I much prefer the first res evil as done by Nintendo. 3 out of 5 in my book.
