Jackson and his cast do Tolkien proud again
The Lord of The Rings Film and Book trilogy have been a constant fixture in my early years. The young and the old have read JRR Tolkien's trilogy, and 70 years on, it is still talked about day by day. No one writes books like Tolkien, so Peter Jackson had some big shoes to fill when he got the rights for the films. Thankfully, he has surpassed all expectations, making possibly the best film trilogy of our time. The first film was an incredible start, and the second certainly does not disappoint either. Where the first one introduces us to the characters and gets them on their merry way towards Mount Doom, the second picks up the story where it left off, with everyone having gone their separate ways. This beautifully directed film does the book proud, showing Frodo's struggle through the ... The Lord of The Rings Film and Book trilogy have been a constant fixture in my early years. This beautifully directed film does the book proud, showing Frodo's struggle through the rought terrain, Merry and Pippin's encounter with the Ents, and the return of Gandalf. The film concludes with the Battle of Helms Deep, where all the characters are reunited to defend the race of man from the oncoming Urak-Hai onslaught. Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen continue to impress throughout the film. Anyone who says that LOTR is boring really has no idea what they are talking about. The first film was the original classic, the third was an emphatic ending, and this second film provides plenty of skirmishing and violence, along with betrayal, love and hope. You can't help but be concerned for the individuals involved, so therefore Jackson does a good job in keeping your eyes glued to the screen. The special two-disc edition comes with some great extra features, such as the making of the film, featurettes, and a music video staring Gollem! This makes for an absolutely unmissable film. Recommended for all. 6 out of 5! This edition
