    Brilliant.

    My 9 year old and 12 year old boys spent 5 hours non-stop, making one of the robots . Excellent challenge and a great sense of satisfaction when completed. This is a great set, that is a bit pricey but I am glad we took the chance on it, as I definitely think we got our money's worth. We loved the irony of the red rubber band, which came in it's own special box. My boys thought this was very funny, given the technology involved, that the rubber band was fundamental to the holding of objects in the robots hand a reminder that simplicity is effective and some things do not need to be re-invented and can literally "hold" there own even in the face of technology! Brilliant toy for budding engineers and girls and boys of all ages, big and small. Well done Lego.

    Excellent though pricey

    This is an expensive buy but well worth it for the hours of fun it will deliver. Usual excellent product quality from Lego means that you can get a fully programmable robot built in a very short time by following the included instructions, you can then download more builds or make up your own! If you're thinking of entering a competition such as First Lego League then I'd recommend the Educational EV3 kit as a starter, but this is a good second kit or your first one if you just want to build and play.

    Bringing Lego to Life

    I have been a keen LEGO fan for years. I played with LEGO as a kid and rediscovered it as an Adult with LEGO Technic. This takes LEGO that step further. It brings LEGO to life and the best bit is that I can use my existing LEGO Technic bricks to create new LEGO Mindstorms models. Programming the Mindstorm brick could be made easier, but once you get your head around it, it is lots of fun. I was glad to see that the EV3 model came with a number of pre-programmed models / build instructions to help you get used to how to use the LEGO properly. I do believe that with a little imagination you can build almost anything.
