Along the way, they get in some interesting culture clashes with bikers, police, and an intrepid TV anchor (Robyn Douglass). Though the premise is altered, the series is still full of the laser battles and deep-space sequences that made the original so popular with legions of fans. Features the complete first series.

Surprisingly entertaining if you seek out the good episodes
Okay, Galactica 1980 isn't the ending that the original Battlestar Galactica series deserved by any means, and when I first watched this in the early 80's I myself wasn't a big fan of it. However, fast forward to 2021, and I found myself surprised when I watched it again for the first time in 40 years. Sure there isn't the majority of the original cast from the first season, but surprisingly some of the stories do stand out from this 10 - part sequel: "Galactica discovers Earth" is watchable, and worth another look. "The Night the Cylons Landed" is actually quite funny, as they (crash) land on Halloween, creating a lot of very silly but entertaining moments, like a Cylon being incapacitated by a simple Microwave being turned on! Finally, "The Return of Starbuck" is the episode most like those of the original series, and it reminds you what a mistake was made scrapping the original show, then trying to re-make it on the cheap after going back on the cancellation. I actually found my second viewing of this series quite entertaining, and if you can accept it for what is, you'll actually end up watching some classic early 80's Glen A Larson TV, which although not the best show here is quite enjoyable and more entertaining than some of the so-called "shows" being put on TV today.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Perfect In Every Way…
I grew up watching BSG, so it was easy to become a fan of the reimagining, then watching this original series again, after so long, was like revisiting my childhood. I find the character relationships so natural, it's easy to believe the crew are just a big family. The storylines, too, are given just enough attention & development to keep you engaged, without it feeling too rushed or too drawn out.
