My original copy of the book was dropping to pieces after 40 years of wear. When I saw this updated version I knew it was time to get a new copy. Exactly the same format. A cookbook that never gets old!
My mum had the first edition when I was a boy. She gave as a present a copy of this edition to my wife many years ago and now we have bought this one for my daughter. Great, no fuss cookbook. Full of all the essentials with excellent, easy to follow recipes. Excellent value for money. An excellent guide to basic cooking.
I have lost count as to how many copies of this book I have purchased. My mother bought me a previous edition in the sixties. I have taught my daughters, grand children and neighbours children with the aid of the book. An excellent basic guide to home cooking with easy to understand recipes. Dairy book of home cooking. I bought this for my 24 year old granddaughter. She often asked, how do you make this or that, so this book I am sure will be good for her. It’s basic, good normal lovely recipes. I bought one when I was first a mum from my United Dairies milkman, I still refer to it now.
