    Fast and lots of channels.

    I currently have 16 SATA hard drives on this controller in four RAID 0 arrays (72TB total) and they all outperform my SSD boot drives, even in random reads and writes. Since this product has reached end-of-life status, HP released firmware that turns on all of the extra features that people used to have to pay extra for. The array control software is still available and it works just fine on Microsoft Windows 11. Linux software is also available. The card does generate enough heat that it requires decent air flow, something that is true of pretty much all enterprise RAID boards.
