    Christmas Favorite

    The Kingston Trio's Last Month Of The Year is full of unusual seasonalsongs. I have loved this album since I was very young. If you're weary of Jingle Bells and Joy To The World, this album just might be something you'd like,

    Lovely, non-standard songs, compelling arrangements

    From 1960, a Kingston Trio record album (CD, here) that I grew up with and which was very important to me and my best friend. The sound is a fair transfer because those Capitol records didn't seem to have all that much depth on our cheap little bedroom monaural record players. Probably the Monaural original I owned had more presence because record companies all seemed to just add reverb murk to Stereo versions. The songs and arrangements are super, and many are a far remove from endless renditions of the same tunes everyone knows. A lovely gift of music.
