A Nintendo-exclusive Sims spin-off, SimAnimals provides players with a virtual forest setting, stocked full with families of cute little interactive animals to nurture, neglect, or nettle as they see fit. Players interact in the game world by arranging and re-arranging objects. Using an animated hand, they can pick up and set down essentially anything in the forest, including rocks, logs, flowers, and trees, as well as the animals themselves. Some animals, such as deer, hedgehogs, owls, rabbits, and squirrels, like to live and play in peace. Other animals, such as foxes, raccoons, and crows, can't seem to have any fun at all without causing a little trouble. As they play, gamers are faced with challenges concerning the ways that the animals interact and the environments that encourage particular behaviors. Solving these puzzles, and making the forest a nicer place for its inhabitants, unlocks new objects and powers for players to use. The Wii version of the game features colorful 3D graphics and point-and-click Wii Remote controls. Up to four friends of the forest can join in a cooperative multiplayer mode.
