About this product

Product Information

A despondent parole officer is aided in his struggle against domestic complacency by three criminals whose lives have gone off the rails in this ensemble comedy from first-time director Brian Jett. From the outside, Walter Dishman (David Denman) has a perfect life. But on the inside, he's slowly suffocating. Little does Walter realize that help can sometimes come when you least expect it. Having recently stolen more than her psychotic ex-boyfriend's heart, Darla DeMint (Gillian Jacobs) is on the run when she becomes Walter's latest assignment. And she's not the only lost-soul in need of some guidance: a lifelong criminal, cantankerous senior Artie Satz (Ed Asner) just isn't taken seriously by his would-be victims anymore, and in the wake of being convicted of insurance fraud, Ivy League educated doctor Kris Styles (Kevin Hart) finds himself forced to work a series of low-level jobs while his marriage crumbles. Somewhere between helping his troubled clients get back on their feet and reevaluating his own humdrum existence, Walter begins to look at his life, and his marriage, in a new light.

  • Hilarity and chaos abound

The Brink is hilarious. From the very start, the characters, who are all seriously defective, draw us in to their insane world, totally inept, at whatever their job might be. Tim Robbins, Jack Black, Pablo Schreiber and Aasif Mandvi, as well as the rest of the cast work extremely well off each other. The show is filled with mayhem and chaos. The show reminds me of the administration of the George W Bush years and their sheer incompetence as leaders and protectors of the laws and Constitution of the USA. I expect Donald Rumsfeld or John Ashcroft to show up at anytime to add to the insanity that is The Brink.
