    Cool Vintage Look

    This cover looks great on the guitar. It is not a perfect fit, and requires some adjustments. I didn't want to bend it too much and it does not stay on very well yet and will require some more tweaking to get it to stick. That's how the original ones were, so this does not surprise me. There is a reason players removed them and used them as ashtrays. It's not the most functional piece, but if you want the true vintage look you have to get it! It would be better if Fender could come up with a better product in the future though that had a lock on it to keep it on.

    Fender Strat bridgecover is great

    Developing a style with heel of hand dampening of sound on Strat I was irritated by the 12 screw ends sticking up in contact with my hand. I learned that this product existed, bought it and, after looking at an on-line description of how to use it, was able to bend it to fit perfectly by using a vise to gently press the sides toward the middle appx 1/8". Shape it a little, try it, shape again. Got a good snug fit and exactly the effect I wanted from this simple device.

    Nice but needed modification to fit my MIM Standard Strat.

    I like it for the price but it took considerable tweaking to make it fit my 2004 MIM Standard Strat. The biggest problem was that it covered about 30% of the tremolo bar hole. It was also a little too wide so it didn't fit snugly over the bridge. After 20 minutes of work with pliers, a hammer, cutting a little with a Dremel tool and making small adjustments at a time, I finally got it to snap on and stay on when I play. Very happy because it now looks like my original 61 Strat, which is the look I was going for. Will probably leave it off almost all the time when playing but I love that vintage look when it's sitting on its stand. It has a nice chrome finish and for such a small price it was worth it.

    original vintage bridge or need to retrofit

    Nice piece, looks great. will only fit to vintage bridge. I might use a double sided tape to stick it on my Wilkinson and prevent buzz. I tend to rest my hand on the bridge and wanted a parking spot for my palm.

    Some DIY mentality required to install. Not real taxing.

    Not a one size fits all product.It took me maybe 10 min. of good old Yankee Ingenuity to mount. Others might have a problem with it. Does what I needed i.e. a resting place for my pick hand.
