Synopsis
The Pentateuch (its Greek name, but also known as the Torah by the Hebrews) consists of the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. From Adam and Eve in the Garden, to Noah's Ark, to Moses' parting of the Red Sea, to its conclusion with the death of Moses, the Pentateuch contains some of the most important and memorable stories in Western civilization. In this richly detailed work, which has become a standard in the field, renowned biblical scholar Joseph Blenkinsopp unravels (as Harold Bloom did in The Book of J) the radical scholarly opinions on just where these ancient and powerful stories come from, how they were formed, and what significance they have today. In the classroom, when professors cover these books of Moses, they turn to Dr. Blenkinsopp's classic for reliable, accessible discussions of all the important details., The Pentateuch (also known as Torah) consists of the first five books of the Bible - Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. From the creation of the world to the death of Moses, it contains some of the most important stories in Western civilization. This guide unravels these stories.

Book is in excellent condition. It did arrive a week and a half later than it was originally supposed to. I reached out to the seller which took a bit of time to receive a response. The book was a good value and it did ship in a bubble envelope which always helps with protecting the books from postal handling/damage.

Shipping took a little longer than it initially said but the book still arrived just as described in fantastic condition. I wasn't a huge fan of the packaging though, as it was just wrapped in a simple thin plastic sleeve with zero cushion or padding and I've had books completely destroyed because there was nothing to protect them so if possible I'd like to see the seller provide a safer package when shipping books. But thankfully mine wasn't damaged in transit!
