It works!
My samsung pad would not charge up so well using just USB. Eventually, the battery went completely flat and I was expecting to have to replace it (possibly costly - and may also have to pay someone to do it). Then I bought this mains wall charger item, which provides twice as many watts/amps as 'ordinary' USB.
