These are great putters with great feel and consistency. If you can't putt with a Scotty, well you probably can't putt at all. I prefer these very simple hosel of the 2.5, it really seems to make the shaft flow to head. Although I usually have my putters bent up 2 degrees to get the head closer to my feet, I'm planning on leaving this one alone as it simply makes a perfect setup for me with its 34" length. I also have a 2008 Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Mid Slant with 20 gram weights, 34 1/2" and up 2 degrees. I'm already prefering the older Newport 2.5 as it feels a bit lighter and seems to flow with my stroke better. This is probably going to be the best investment I've made in my golf equipment to date. We'll see....
For years I have been watching Scotty Cameron putters in so many touring pro's bags. I've gotten my game to a point where shaving a couple more strokes off my handicap will get me to single digits. If so many pros use Cameron putters there must be a reason, right? I started watching Cameron putters on EBAY about 2-yrs ago, investigating different models, finally narrowing it down to the Studio Newport 2.5. What attracted me to this model initially was the clean, smooth lines. The size and shape of the putter head is very similar to my old Ping putter so I knew the transition wouldn't be dramatic. This particular Studio Newport 2.5 caught my eye as there was some customization (paint & finish) that made it stand out from the pack. Besides I just paid off my Caddie and wanted a new toy. I've used this putter for 3 or 4 rounds now and practiced an hour with it. Its everything I expected. The putter feels good in my hands, my friends say it feels light. I play the Pro V1 and the ball rolls smoothly from impact. The sound of the putter striking the ball gives me some unexpected feedback. I can clearly hear miss-hits. If I strike the ball off center (toe or heel) I can hear it! My stroke is good and my misses usually stem from coming up, off the putt. With this putter I know it immediately, I can hear it. One last thing I noticed is that the sight line on the putter helps me line up the sweetspot to the ball. Its obvious if I am not centered over the ball at address, I can see it and I can adjust. I am clearly impressed with my Scotty Cameron Studio Newport 2.5 and I expect to use it for years.Read full review
I purchased one of these putters that had been refinished by Scotty's Custom Shop. The putter is hands down perfect! Not only is it beautiful, and one of my instant favorites, but the santa fe (1.5 or 2.5) style neck makes aiming seem easier. The putter is on the lighter side weight wise, especially when compared to more modern putters. Overall, I've tried several brands and styles of putters, (Nike, Taylormade, Odyssey, and one of my old favorite Spalding classics). I now have 2 putters that are unmatched when it comes to feel and speed and they are: Studio Stainless Newport 2.5 & the Scotty Cameron Futura. If you are reading this asking yourself whether or not Scotty Cameron putters are worth the $300.00+, Order one and take it to the course. The doubt you had will slap you in the face once you feel and see the difference in your putting.Read full review
There is just something about a Scotty Cameron putter that is indescribable. Like no other putter, when you place it in your hands it's like magic happens. The look, the feel and the balance makes you feel you will never miss a putt again. Worth every penny of it's purchase price. If you are a serious golfer you just have to try one.

I've never owned a Cameron putter before and I recently purchased this Newport 2.5 and a Red X mallet for my father-in law. Both putters can be summed as with the word "solid". The Newport's sweet spot (never really felt a sweet spot on a putter before) is very noticable and wonderful. I can certainly tell when I hit the sweet spot and when I don't. It's very solid. I didn't notice it quite as much with the mallet, but my father-in law loves it's feel. It's a bit heavier a feel than then Newport 2.5. We both are very pleased with our new Scotty putters as I'm sure anyone would be.
