I bought this to power my GoPro when in use as a dash cam. This unit is built to professional quality and I highly recommend it. I don't really know what else to say. It's simple yet effective for what it is.

Out of the box, this doesn't work with my Hero4. The engineers who designed this obviously didn't try to use it. The length of the cord between the battery and the camera plug could stand to be a little longer, but that isn't what makes it unusable. The back door case will not close because the camera plug hits the plastic fin that is in the upper left hand corner of the case. Also, the battery being glued in makes for a snug fit as well. To get it to close, I used an exact knife to remove most of the plastic fin that was interfering with the plug as well as breaking the battery free so that the length of the wire between the battery and camera plug wasn't such an issue. Be careful when breaking the battery free, I cracked the case slightly breaking it free, but not enough to make it unuseable. The manufacturer should fix their design and offer to send out replacements if requested. Shame on Switronix for selling a product that requires modification before using......Read full review

I read many reviews before purchasing this. Some said it was difficult to plug in due to a very short cord between case back and camera. This was certainly what I found, but also when I went to unplug it, the back of the camera plug fell apart. The back of the plug where the cord comes through just pulled apart exposing the wires and solder connections. It was some type of snap together connection and try as I might it would not go back down over the connection. In trying to push it back down I broke one of the connections. I have to say that I also read some good reviews about this product or i would not have taken the chance in buying it. Until Switronix puts more cord on the camera end and beefs up the durability I would not waste my money on this product. I ended up buying a USB converter that snaps on my Dewalt drill battery for the price of this product and plugs into the mini plug on the camera. Problem solved.Read full review

The cable is too short between the box on the cable and the plug for the camera. I had to insert the bottom of the plug into the camera and rotate it up as I closed the case. In order to unplug the cord I had to finagle the camera out of the housing so I could pull the plug straight out. Cable length is about half of that shown in the pictures and if it was another millimeter or two shorter I don't think I would even be able to plug it in.

At first look the product seems really well build. But once you try to use it you are convinced othervise. Tha cabel for the gopro connector is short and hard to handle. The case could not be closed because first it hits the gopro connector. Once the case has been modified to not hit it you can close it a bit more but not all the way because then the connector hits the electronic box that is glued to the case. You then have to break the box lose trying to not destroy your newly bought casing and push the box to the side as you close the case. Also the seal for the cable through the case could have been much better. This one will stop splashing water but that is all. With a propper sealing this case would have been super cool for underwater photos. Back to the drawing board guys! This product deserves a better solution!Read full review
