  • Television and videos not good for children under 2

The name "Baby Einstein" can lull you into thinking it's okay or even good for babies to watch t.v., but the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television AT ALL to children under 2 because so many studies have proven its harmful effects on children. Studies have shown that: - for every hour of television a baby watches a day, their chances of acquiring an attention deficit disorder increases by 10%. - among babies ages 8 months to 16 months, every hour spent daily watching programs such as 'Brainy Baby' or 'Baby Einstein' translated into six to eight fewer words in their vocabularies as compared with other children their age." - brain wave activity in babies is slower when watching television than when sleeping. "Signing Time" (Two Little Hands Productions) DVDs is an option ...

  • Baby Einstein's Van Gogh DVD is charming, fun and memorable - we loved it!!

When my triplet granddaughters were born in 2004, I purchased a "total" set of 12 Baby Einstein DVD's. From the time they were able to sit up, I would sit down with them on the floor in front of the TV and we would all watch these wonderful, playful and musical DVDs. I don't know what I would have done without them - they would ask for specific ones eventually and were always very interested in what was being seen and heard. With my help and my participation, they were like little sponges. They are now in 1st grade and are very smart and happy little kids. I would heartily encourage any parent to purchase they amazing DVDs and use them for fun first and eventually for learning along with a parent, grandparent or care giver. There are now 26 of them in a set and the price is now half of ...

  • Baby Einstein- Baby VanGogh

This is an excellent DVD for kids. My one-year-old LOVES the Baby Einstein series so it is a MUST HAVE in my house. Sad as it sounds these DVD's are great for parents too, especially if you're trying to get some light housework done (they're only 30 minutes long!), but my daughter will stay so focused on the colors and the animals and the music is so calming so she stays in one place. All-in all I love this DVD and all the other Baby Einstein DVD's that we own...

  • Teaches basic colors

Baby Van Gogh teaches basic colors using the Goat puppet and the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh. Each color (red, green, yellow, blue, & purple) has its own segment which begins with the goat 'painting' a Van Gogh then reinforces with other images of that color. My grandchildren love all the Baby Einstein series.

  • Education at it's best.

Vivid colors, entertaining puppets, wonderful music to enhance learning. This DVD as well as all Baby Einstein DVD's are top of the line when it comes to keeping a child's attention as they incorporate music and education. It holds a child's interest even as a baby and then as the child gets older they are able to grasp the concept being taught. How many 2 and 3 year olds can identify a painting and it's artist.
