The Fostex T20 MKII is the newer version of the old T20 RP. They sound OK, not as good as the old ones but they fit a little better - more adjustable. There are electronic modifications you can have done, it ends up being pretty pricey and I've never done it. As far as studio monitors go they're fairly accurate and open sounding, no complaints. They're comfortable to wear but with that comes possible sound leakage, i.e. click track can bleed into the microphone if the performer has them up too loud. Buy them if: you want a decent pair of comfortable, semi open phones. Don't buy them if: sound leakage is an issue, closed, surround style phones will work better.
Im a recording sound engineer,I rely heavily on headphones for this application , the Fostex T family of headphones are a very afordable, well built, reasonably accurate headphones, the cord is easly replaced when damaged and I havnt blown a set yet , I use them througout my studio and they have been very reliable over the years, great bang for the buck!!
