I wanted more than just a tablet. I had been considering either the Macbook Air and the Macbook Pro. Reviews gave the MacBook Air better marks on everything except upgradeability (you cannot upgrade conveniently). That was OK and this model had larger flash memory (256G), 8G RAM and the faster i7 microprocesssor. The final selling price was very fair. I enjoy the light weight and compactness of the unit. Display and touchpad are very nice.
I needed a new laptop and decided to give Apple a try. I like the build and weight of the MBA, and the super fast performance. I also like the quality of the Apple product. I am not an Apple Fanboy, but I buy what I like best. The battery life is a little disapointing. I get 6-7 hours, but I am not sure how old the battery is since I bought it on Ebay. This is the 2012 model, and I have no problems with the way it operates. The I7 processer, 8g memory, and 256 SSD is a good combination for me.
My wife has not liked the last Windows PC I bought her for some time, so I finally broke down and bought her an Apple. She really loves it. There is some learning curve to move from Windows to OS X, but not as much as one would think. She can do all she wants to do on this laptop and more than on her old Windows PC. The only thing she can't do on this laptop that she has to keep a Windows PC for is the interface device for her embroidery machine, which requires a PCMCIA slot and doesn't support USB. I highly recommend a MacBook Air for anyone who wants an easier to use laptop than a Windows PC!

I love my Mac book Air. It is super fast and easy to use. I love that I can use it with my iPhone too! There are so many great apps available. This was my first Apple computer and there was a learning curve but everything was so easy that the adjustment was easy! It is very light and portable with super battery life!! No complaints!
