I have used the scales which are non electronic and simple to use helping to make an accurate adjustment to the force on the stylus.     Easy set up

    Simple and accurate to set up the tracking weight of your cartridge. It mirrors the weight, when measured, of the many electronic tracking scales available for circa £10 on eBay. Smaller than to might think but cheap, simple and we'll made. Recommended.

    Ortofon tracking force balance

    This seems to work well and is a viable alternative to using digital scales. My only reservation is that the scale jumps from 1.5 to 2 when some Ortofon cartridges suggest 1.8 as ideal. This means there is an element of estimation required. However, I have to say it did make a significant difference to the overall sound.

    Simple but effective

    I needed something to check the stylus weight of an old Thorens deck I had just purchased, and among the maze of options I found this little Ortofon gadget and decided to take a chance. I have to say it performs very well, pretty accurate and doesn't need batteries! What's not to like?
