I received advice from the seller on how to rectify the problem, as this didn't work I received a partial refund which I was happy to accept. I have now used the one working pole and it works great. Whilst it was disappointing that one of the poles was faulty I am more than happy to recommend the seller and the item given the seller's response to the problem and the quality & price of the item.
