To stiff a liner for painting irregular surfaces, elastic not strong enough to keep them on your hand.
Baught these to paint some ornate staircase spindles. The painting mitt has a stiff inner that makes it hard to flex it in order to paint irregular shapes. They may work better for more regular surfaces. This stiffness means the cuff of the mitt although elasticated will not grip onto your wrist so it's hard to keep it on your hand when painting. You could try tying some elastic around it. We found some normal gloves at a local 'cheap retailer' that were fairly lint free, they normally cost £2.99 for 2 pairs, but were on offer for £1 for 2 pairs. We washed them in the washing machine to remove any fluff. If you wear disposable gloves (the type doctors and mechanics use) they worked well for painting undercoat, not tried the top coat yet. Good and bad aspects.
This painters mitt has an elasticated wrist band but it is so large that it does not grip on an adult man's hand, and therefore it keeps coming off. The painting surface gives a good finish and the built in plastic glove keeps your hand clean.
