    No thrills but good for price.

    The product is very basic. No on/off switches, no battery strength meters etc. but this is not what you pay for. It just works and so far it does it well. The unit feels sturdy and because it has no extras it probably makes it more waterproof and longer lasting. The only really gripe is that the pulse indicator, when pulsating in green, is not very clear. The LED light should be easier to see. It is especially hard on a sunny day. The red one (when battery is low) shows more clearly. Apart from this minor thing, I'm very happy with the unit.

    Energiser unit

    Great little unit for chicken fencing. Good value and efficient. Also recommend a solar panel to trickle charge the battery to keep predators at bay. The unit is just the job and I'm pleased with its efficiency. Added extra fencing which it powers easily and gives a good strong kick!

    Great little fencer

    Very pleased with this so far. Much better quality than the Chinese one which it replaces which was not remotely weather resistant, leaked water into the interior in rain and failed depressingly fast. If course we haven't had rain since I bought this one but it looks better made. Only 2 niggles. 1.The earthing spike is better assembled so that there is less of a dog leg (turn the lower section through 180 degrees) to make it easier to insert in rock hard clay soil) 2 We have a lot of trouble with thefts from the field. It would be useful to have a secure ring which could be threaded with a lock and chain.

    Excellent product.

    Good current running through it. We have about 300m of tape and wire fencing with no loss of current at the end. Good with what appears to be a robust design with good electrical fittings and connectors. The positive crocodile clip could be a little larger as it just fits onto the positive battery terminal - this may be easily disconnected.

    Very good value.

    Very good price. 3 year warranty. Warning light. Enough power. Weather proof. Dark colour making it less visible so less likley to get stolen. The no/off switch is underneath so when used it you are likley to lift the unit off the stake. It is rather fiddly to put it back. Answer either hold the unit down with one hand and switch with the other or connect and disconect the battery instead.
