Awesome fix
These are simple, easy to fit and work. I got quoted £2000 to fit two new manifolds with motors, £500 to buy to recon manifolds and then 10 hours of my time to fit them, £480 to delete the swirl flap codes from the ECU. These were so cheap it was a no brainer to try them. So far the code has gone and not come back after 200 miles, which is better than any previous reset I have done(turn the ignition on 5 times in a row to clear down the code). Simple fix for P2004, P2009, P2016 and P2017 fault codes.
The TDI engine will eventually throw this error. The reason is that the swirl flap actuators bear very heavily on the link arms and bearings causing excessive wear. That in turn causes over-rotation of the flaps. For some unknown reason, VAG flag condition this with a MIL which will cause vehicle tests to fail. It does not warrant such a drastic flag, but there you are.The cost of replacing the bearings, which is what the dealers recommend, can be up to 2,000. Replacing the link arms does not always clear it. Having the fault light come on was looking expensive, even with DIY replacements. Then I found these brackets. They simply provide end-stops to the rotation action. They support the links, taking the weight of the actuators off the bearings and restricting travel. Once the excessive ... Once the excessive travel is limited, the ECU sees that the movement is back within limits and the fault light goes out all by itself. No VAG Com or reset required. And it stays out. Permanently fixed. Fitting takes about 10 minutes and there is a good video guide provided. There was a QR code on the bag but it wouldn't scan for me. It wasn't needed. On Torx tool to open 2 screws each side, slip in the brackets and put back the screws again. Seeemples. A common sense, affordable solution that should be installed on every TDI to avoid the condition arising in the first place.

Bought these to see if it would cure the recurring fault I have of P2015 on my 2010 A6 2.7v6tdi. Thought it was worth a punt for 15 quid as a potential fix rather than another Remap or having to overhaul the entire swirl flap system. Normally once cleared the fault code and annoying engine light returs the next time the car was started from cold next day but its been clear of faults for a week now so seems to have done the Job very pleased. Simple effective fix
Did exactly as suggested and cleared the fault. Its well made and relatively easy to fit. Not sure whether the sharp edges acting on the lobes will cause a repeat of the fault later down the line. Time will tell.
