I am just buying my second one of these, having abused my other one so much it eventually failed. But, before it failed, it cleared a LOT of brambles and brush with me. It is light enough to carry easily, and swing pretty fast with little effort, and if you keep it sharp (which is relatively easy) it makes short work of pretty heavy undergrowth. I have older "slashers" with wooden handles and longer blades, which are simply too heavy, they are knackering to use, and this is a doddle. Try one, you will not be disappointed. Just don't expect it to breeze through 40-50mm branches the whole time, because it will bend (like mine did)

Lightweight and suitable for a lefthanded person. I am 77 year old woman and it very easy to use, my friends sickle has a solid wooden handle and is very heavy and tiring to use, this one is easy peasy.

Pro: The blade is incredibly sharp, holds its edge well and is very easy to re-sharpen. The handle is a good length. It is nearly as good as an old fashioned scythe and is much easier and more efficient in use than a strimmer - much quieter too! I even use it to trim my hawthorn hedge. Con: A sickle is more efficient if the blade is at an angle of about 30 deg. to the handle. If they mounted the blade so that it could be adjusted incrementally to suit the particular use through 180 deg. it would be perfect.

Absolutely love my sickle , so much so I bought the long & short one . I’ve gone through so many strimmers on my extra large garden but these get the job done in a fraction of the time, with no nasty pins & needles in the hands from vibration , battery can’t run out . It doesn’t get tangled up . Absolutely brilliant . Totally recommend

Ideal for clearing bankside vegetation when fishing. Easy to sharpen with a sharpening stone. Comfortable grip on handle. Lug on grip for a wrist lanyard. Only downside is that there is no sheath for the blade for protection.
