    Why rubber, it perished too quick

    Everyone knows the cap is fine, the rubber link is the weak point, it lasts five years max, garbage but, what can you do. I’d suggest nylon would last longer or coated steel but that wouldn’t make Mercedes money. If you want your car nice buy it else, totally unnecessary

    Perfect replacement on 2017 SLC 250D

    Like many, the rubber lanyard had perished and then snapped on my original filler cap. This genuine Mercedes replacement cap was easy to fit, and restores my car to factory perfection. Not especially cheap, but as the lanyard isn’t available separately, it’s the only viable option.
