    Fixed loud rattle -- great for repairing an old Ecofan

    The new motor makes a little bit of a whirring noise, but at least it doesn't make an annoying loud rattle at higher stove temperatures like the old one did. Unfortunately our Ecofan was the original design with soldered fan wires. It was a two-person job to get the wires into the little holes on the motor. I wish it had the newer quick connector. But we got it assembled okay eventually. We're generally happy with the fan after swapping motors. Hopefully it will last another ten years.

    Works great but they need to say to cut the wires

    After maybe 10 years my motor finally gave out. I have one of the original models, and I had to cut and solder the wires to it. A little tricky, but now it works like it was new again. Way better than buying a whole new unit.

    Caframo Motor Repl Kit

    Arrived quickly. Installation time was about 20 minutes, but could have been about 5 minutes if I had realized the fit would be so tight/precise. Runs quietly and starts up at fairly low surface temperatures. Very happy with it!
