  • An Outstanding Album (Owen's Best) From One Of My Favorite Artists

    First off I have to mention that I'm a huge fan of Owen, I own all their albums. New Leaves is my favorite Owen album and is just filled with absolutely terrific songs. Owen is for music listeners who enjoy acoustic-driven indie rock with a quite unique lyrical style. Bandleader Mike Kinsella has no limits or restraint when choosing topics to write about. He'll write about armoires, a hair found in a bed, a college essay, etc. I am typically not a fan of relationship-themed songs, but somehow when Kinsella writes one I don't mind. He brings a different perspective to the theme, one that doesn't come off as sappy or cheap. It adds to the musical experience for me, hearing about the odd variety of topics that Kinsella chooses to sing about. My favorite tracks on this ...
