    a joyful romp Kathryn Grayson and Howard Keel play the feuding leads in a story about a musical version of Shakespeare's Taming of The Shrew Ann Miller'sdancing to the song"Too Darn Hot" alone is worth the price of the disc and Keenan Wynn and James Whitmore jr as two inept gangsters trying to collect a gambling debt are hysterical their dance routine to the song"Brush up your Shakespeare" will have you rolling on the floor with laughter

    A great classic musical

    Kiss Me Kate is one of Hollywood's great classical musicals, a story-within-a-story. A divorced couple performing Taming of the Shrew onstage and offstage. Add a wonderful performance by Keenan Wynn and James Whitmore, mistakenly come during the performance to collect a gambling debt. The film is also notable for the great Bob Fosse part in choreographing part of the grand finale dance section, which is considered one of the best in musical film.

    Kiss Me Kate is just a lot of fun with wonderful music and wonderful dancing. For those of you who really do like the "blockbuster" musicals, this is a keeper. Forget that it was released in 1953 (as a 3-D movie no less), just pop some corn, dim the lights and transport yourself to a simpler, more innocent time.

    A classic musical with early Bob Fosse

    A great musical with songs by Coke Porter and dance numbers that shine. Ann Miller's "Too Darn Hot" is especially wonderful as are all the musical numbers on this Taming Of The Shrew inspired movie. Perhaps the biggest treat of all is the premiere of Bob Fosse'a choreography in the number he dances with Gene Kelly's rehearsal partner in "From This Moment On"! One of my favorites.
