Tom Cruise plays John Anderton, a Precrime enforcer who believes in the system for his own personal reasons--years back his young son was abducted, and he has dealt with the loss by becoming a high-strung Precrime officer. It's not easy to accept the absurd world depicted in this long-winded sci-fi hokum, in which people are arrested and punished BEFORE committing a murder. But Tom Cruise gives one of his strongest performances as the boss of a "Pre-Crime" unit framed for murder by his own technology and director Steven Spielberg has a lot of fun with some astonishing special effects. Fans of Cruise and Spielberg will love it.It's not easy to accept the absurd world depicted in this long-winded sci-fi hokum, in which people are arrested and punished BEFORE committing a murder.
