I purchased this film for an autistic child of a friend, as he is interested in Gaudi and they are planning a trip to Spain. He really enjoys the main title DVD: it is merely wonderful film set to music, and almost no dialogue, like a musical tone poem set to architecture. Personally, I needed the guide initially, but then just went with the film makers allusions and comparisons to other architectural forms, nature and Guadi's work. On the companion disk 2 there is a BBC piece dovering his Barcelona work that is very good, except the guy's blatant dislike of the Catholic church prevents him from accepting Gaudi's love of the church. Also, on disk 2 is a piece covering Hiroshi Teshigahara's father's sculpture, kind of an homage to his father. The film soundtrack ranges from classical fanfare, to water-harp music giving a wonderful aqueous mood, to simple Japanes string tunes. The images are vivid and clear, and reveal so many of the textures and details that reveal what drove Gaudi: his Catalan upbringing, a love of nature, an observance of cultural forms in architecture, and his committment to living his work, and primarily his love of the church. I really enjoyed the trip back to an architect I loved as a student. Gaudi has been in and out of favor with each successive generation, but a historical look in context reveals his genius and reflection of his art and times. Gaudi worked for God in the Sagrada Familia, and in many of his other works. He was a driven genius.Read full review
One of the best documentary I have ever seen. Very educational.

This DVD is a wonderful introduction to Antonio Gaudi's work and legacy. His architecture is flowing and organic. It imparts a feeling to this viewer that his structures were not so much built as that they evolved from the locales in which they exist. The DVD is a must-see for anyone willing to experience that "outside-of-the-box" feeling and it will open your mind to new concepts in art and architecture. Take this incredible journey into the world of imagination this genius has created.
Have great love of Barcelona and Gaudi. Hard to find material so this was a lucky find. Check your DVD player will accept. Mine did not (My fault!!) but now have access to one that does Content is excellent if you are a fan or not
Glad my business went to good will. The DVDs were quite dirty, like covered in specks larger than dust, and scratched a little when I cleaned it. Great film. I will always buy from goodwill
