A botched robbery lands Henry in prison for a brief period of time, and when he gets released, his reckless infidelities and drug abuse damage his association with his adopted family.Scorsese's film is a visual and sonic onslaught, featuring a brilliant pop-music soundtrack and stunning camera work--including the infamous Steadicam one-take that introduces the audience to the Copacabana's patrons.     Total Riveting Film !!!

    Another masterpiece from Scorcese ... Deniro , Pesci and Liotta shine in this taut movie Goodfellas takes you on ride like no other , full of "edge of your seat " moments , one scene that I remember involves Lorraine Bracco (excellent) and Robert Deniro outside of an entrance into a building that he tries to persuade her to enter with the plan of executing her ?? very intense moment !!! One of the best scene's in film history has to be the montage of executions with the music of Layla (instrumental portion) in the background , most effective . Robert Deniro of course always the great actor, Joe Pesci a standout here (Oscar winner) , Ray Liotta proves he can hang with heavyweights The screenplay is top notch, the soundtrack- perfectly suited , all around , just a superb movie ...

    The Best Mob Movie of The 90's.....Maybe The Best Ever!

    One of the most captivating, realistic, and well plotted mob flicks ever-Goodfellas is a glorious, all out, masterpiece complete and blazing with great scenes-thanks largely to it's fantastic cast-Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco and more. Pesci won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar, Bracco was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. This mvoie is so good...I can't describe it in words. Based on the real life of Henry Hill. Also stars Paul Sorvino, Frank Sivero, Cuck Low, Frank Vincent, and Frank DiLeo. 10 out of 10...Excellent, superb, and masterful! And remember (you'll get this joke when you see this great film) "Never rat on your friends, and always keep your mouth shut"

    HOW COULD YOU BE WRONG WITH A CAST LIKE THIS ONE?

    I love to watch Mob-Mafia type movies, then factor in this superb cast and it's a no brainer. Very much like The Godfather, you find yourself rooting for "the bad guys". Ray Liotta is one of the wise guys and the viewer sees the movie through his eyes and narration. I feel like this was one of the many times the Academy Awards had over looked Martin Scorsese’s skills as a elite director. I have seen the movie numerous times on premium cable, but I decided to buy the DVD to own a copy. If it hasn't been shown on other regular channels yet, it will be soon. That means it will be censored. Just think what censorship did to The Jerk and you'll understand why I purchased a copy for myself. That alone should make you want to buy the DVD for posterity.

    Goodfellas~

    Great movie, Great actors~especially Lorraine Bracco!! hardly any mention of her performance as Karen in this movie..she is a Fantastic Actress! and she holds her own, right up there with the guys in this film, and her character PORTRAYAL of a mob wife is SO BELIEVABLE! She is a Natural, and a great ASSET in this movie! And, her Jersey accent (real or not) was perfection!! A "5-STAR Actress" all the way~👍👏👏👌!!
