This sequel to the 2006 game Wildlife Tycoon: Venture Africa moves players from the savannah to the arctic, where the decisions gamers make can have a profound impact on the polar ecosystem. Players control the forces of wind, water, earth, and sun to help bring about the extreme seasonal changes that typify life for creatures like wolves, polar bears, and orcas. Collecting the "spirits" of deceased animals lets players harness nature's forces, so gamers can use the power of wind to direct the smell of an elk carcass to a pack of starving wolves, or use a cold snap to thin out an overpopulated ecosystem. Venture Arctic is designed to give gamers a window into a complex and diverse world, and illustrate the effects climate change, unseasonable temperatures, and animal extinction have on ecosystems.
