    Elegant, beautiful, magic.Rare quality!

    This film really brought Shakespeare alive to me at the tender age of 55. The film is set in Italy, with most the non main cast being Italian, the sheer beauty of all the setting, cast and the art work is just wonderful. I watch this film so much just to be transported from this grey existence to another world for a while. The play within is really funny also, each character being a brilliant actor. When you read a book and compare it to the film, usually the book wins by miles especially when its written by such a icon, but this film is a clear winner over the play. Even Shakespeare would love this, its done so that I can now understand the language he wrote it in and what it means. Not easy. I did attempt film version of Macbeth with Michael Fassbender in the same way but still lost! I ...

    Classic drama well played

    This is a play I know fairly well with some potentially cringe-worthy moments. Not so here. All handled deftly by great actors. Some fresh approaches opening new insights. The dialogue free scenes used cleverly. Well set, well acted, well filmed, a splendid evening's entertainment.

    Extremely Funny !

    This is a great version of a Shakespeare classic ,very funny .When i first watched this film it was on TV one Christmas in the early hours of the morning . As i could not sleep i turned the TV on and was amazed by the technical effects , the acting by Calista Flockhart and Kevin Kline etc was terrific . Therefore decided to buy it so that i could introduce Shakespeare to my family and friends , to show that Shakespeare can be enjoyed by all .
