However, he continues his investigations independently, often solving cases before the actual police are able to do so, and always seeking out clues to the unsolved murder of his wife. The combination of comedy, mystery, and a distinctively eccentric character have lead many to dub MONK the successor to COLUMBO. This collection includes the complete fourth season.

    Monk Season Four

    Monk is spot on! The series addresses issues that not only pertain to the work place, be it on or off location; but, also personal issues the characters face in daily life, how they confront those issues and/or fears, and the way they adjust to solve them. I just love it!

    Great suspense and humor at the same time

    This is a very good program. Monk's character is hilarious. I loved the dentist scene. Monk in that dentist chair was classic! I also enjoyed the Jason Alexander appearance as the Monk anti-type. The thing I like about this show is one minute its a serious homicide investigation, and the next your laughing at or with some of the characters in it, especially Monk. The only negative I have to say about this series is I wish they could forego the language used in it. It's not often, but it is often enough to keep our young ones from watching it. If you have a guardian that will mute the cussing language, but that technology is not perfected yet. Relatively speaking, it is minor compared to other shows, but nonetheless, cursing is heard in every episode. Some will say, big ...

    WORTH WATCHING

    I CAN'T THINK OF A MORE ENJOYABLE TV SERIES. I DISCOVERED THIS GEM DURING THE WRITERS STRIKE A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. MY KIDS, AGES 8 AND 11, STARTED WATCHING WITH ME AND FINALLY MY WIFE. WE ALL LOVE EVERY EPISODE AND ACTUALLY MAKE TIME TO WATCH IT AS A FAMILY. I LOVE HOW MARRIAGE IS PORTRAYED AS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE VERY SPECIAL INDEED, NOT SOME DISPOSABLE THING LIKE YOU SEE VIRTUALLY ON EVERY OTHER SHOW. ALTHOUGH MONK CLEARLY HAS HIS PROBLEMS, HE IS SMART, FUNNY, AND WORKING THROUGH THOSE TROUBLES. THE FRIENDS HE SURROUNDS HIMSELF WITH SUPPORT, LOVE AND ACCEPT HIM EVEN WITH THESE DIFFICULTIES. EVEN THOUGH HIS PROBLEMS ARE EXAGGERATED FOR THE SHOW, WHO DOESN'T HAVE PERSONAL ISSUES. THE MYSTERIES ARE FUN TO FIGURE OUT, THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN ALL THE MAJORS CHARACTERS IS VERY GOOD, ...
