looks wise it is B.P.C. but build is good 4 dual power supply capacitors. Rugged Sturdy Amp. Great Value. Only downfall is looks and 6 ohms min impedance.

well used unit
volume slide was broken ,and balance slide quits on right or left side and you have to tap on unit to get it to work .repaired volume control and have to sent off to get cleaned to get staic out of it when you turn up volume.

Purchased New in 1981
Bought this new in 1981 and it's a monster. It powered the Pioneer CS9000 speakers for well over 30 years with no problems other than the typical static when you turned it up and down because of the poor choice of volume knob design. A little Deoxit fixes that though and will keep the static in check. This is an old reciever so you're bound to run into typical problems with them that plagues all the others like worn capacitors etc. but I can tell you that in normal working condition these things are loud and clear and power large floor speakers with ease. So much so that you have to be careful not to blow the speakers, a quarter of this things volume would eat most smaller speakers. Both this reciever and the speakers that came with it have lasted me since 1981 with no serious issues.Bought this new in 1981 and it's a monster.
