    a good film i will watch again

    classics are normally better left alone and this is an example of that. having said that the film is a good one on its own merits with an excellent supporting cast for the main protagonists and good action sequences. the lawless atmosphere of the time is well portrayed though the death and destruction at the end is overplayed for effect

    Well worth a watch.

    Classic films are often ripe for "re-vamping" into something less watchable than the original, but that isn't the case here. Whilst taking some of the key themes from the 1960 Western and re-rendering qualities of some of the original characters (Brynner, Mc Queen, Coburn and Vaughn especially), this re-sets the action in a more recognisable format and allows its own cast to shine in that context. Good performances are provided by all, but Washington, Pratt and Hawke stand out in this glossy and gritty venture of searching for justice.

    Magnificent Seven modern version

    A good modern remake of the Magnificent Seven but no where near as good as the brilliant first one or the more Spanish one with Spanish horses and mexican riders. But for a modern day western film it was good far better than other modern westerns with the exception of the brilliant Yellowstone and sequels.
