I had the same product from other sellers before and it was stáil so, very happy with this one. The fresh product will have more of a molasses consistency and will have a slight sour taste and would look slightly shiney in appearance. The stále product on the other hand will look more like marmite and the deep dark brown has lost it's shine. Also, the older one will have more of a muddy taste I.e. lost it's sourness.
