Gimme Shelter- Rolling Stones
A great DVD for Stones fans and other music fans. A recorded history lesson of the fantastic 1969 American tour of the States by the Stones with great concert shots at Madison Square Garden in New York . Also great details of the shambolic planning and organisation of the famed Altamonte concert renowned for the murder of one of the audience by a member of the Hells Angels "security" team. Great viewing.A great DVD for Stones fans and other music fans. Could have been so much better
If you want to hear the Stones sounding good in 1969 get a copy of 'Get Yer Ya Yas Out'. The recordings for the live album must have been heavily edited to make them sound so good compared with the performances on this DVD. If you want to know about the Altamont free concert tragedy read the published articles. The information given in this production is disjointed and poorly explained. If you want to see endless footage of a laconic Charlie Watts then buy this.If you want to hear the Stones sounding good in 1969 get a copy of 'Get Yer Ya Yas Out'.
