    Sizing up the hole.

    Bought this small lightweight plastic spade for doing No. 1’s in the wilderness. Assuming the going is soft and digging won’t be a problem with it. The spade width is approx 65mm so, I just hope I can dig fast enough a suitable excavation to handle my needs in quick time.

    Not used yet, I’m getting stuff together for some wild camping, but it feels strong in the hand and I’m hoping it won’t let me down when I start digging! It’s made of hard plastic and slimline so it fits in and spare space.

    Ideal for wild camping.

    Great for softer ground but not sure how it will cope with rocky ground as is fairly small. For wild camping in scotland I believe you are required to carry a trowel now. Feels really strong and light and appears better than the stainless folding type with the dodgy handle.
