  • One of the best 3rd party lenses for Sony FF

This is the first lens I bought to go with the a7iii. It was a toss up between this and the Sony 24-105, which is apparently great too. Did loads of research and opted for this. Not disappointed. Very premium feel to it and sharp images at all focal lengths. I am no expert but there are loads of reviews and videos out there to back this up.

  • Lovely quality, and excellent value for a professional lens.

I decided to switch to full-frame (an A7iii) after my A-mount A77ii died. I hired an A7iii and the Sony equivalent of this lens to cover a wedding and try it out. I liked both bits of kit, but felt that £2000 for the G-Master 2 lens was more than I could justify at the time. The Sigma was half the price, and I have had nothing but good experience with their lenses going back to the 80s when I worked in a camera shop myself, and owning several since 1997 when they proved a good alternative to Minolta's AF lenses. The lens feels nice in the hand, and works very smoothly. The autofocus is very quick and quiet, especially compared with my older backup A-mount cameras. I strongly recommend this lens.
