As usual I started this set with the import. Now my import was of better quality than most I've seen but, being a anime fan I had to buy the real deal. The import was only a get you buy if you will.Vash the Stampede the man with a $$60 billion double dollars reward on his head.Wich seems oddly enough because he claims to fight for "love and peace".Also he has a vow wich he stays true to of never taking another life which in his case seems almost impossible. So with the two insurance girls who have been assigned to him being labeled the humanoid typhoon he travels around getting into all kinds of trouble. Also theres a gun toting trigger happy priest who just kind of shows up.This show is definately lots of fun. It's a definite 9.8 out of 10.
There are dozens of anime series out there, and let's face it: Quite a few of them are pretty lousy. This is NOT one of those. Trigun could be considered one of the best anime yet made, an elite. Storyline, presentation, art, writing, characters - all come together to create a finished product with barely any flaws. This is also one of the rare cases where the English dub is better than the original Japanese. I would instantly recommend Trigun to any of my friends. However, this is a somewhat mature product. There is plenty of violence, usually with guns. Though the main character is morally good and seeks to minimize injury to anyone, accidents happen, and he isn't invincible. There is also a good deal of swearing that runs the gamut from relatively tame to more intense. Sexual acts are alluded to, though never directly spoken about or shown. Mind games are played and morals challenged in ways that could upset the viewer (though in its defense, this is intended). All in all, Trigun is definitely meant for older teens and adults. The DVD set includes all 26 episodes of the anime, on three discs. The layout is very functional, but design is obviously minimal, as are special features. While choosing a chapter to watch, a rather loud music bite plays, and some may become irritated with it if they're moving to later chapters on the disc.Read full review
Look, first off if you're any kind of anime fan this fits the bill. Not as crazy as others out there but thats what I liked about it. Incredibly fun story with sinister villains and quirky characters. Vash the Stampede is perhaps the hardest of heros to really understand, mostly because he's a goofy hero but also because he has a certain sense of justice and honor rare even in our current times let alone thousands of years in the future. A little hard to understand at the end but what good story doesn't make you think after its over? Anyway get it, love it and then share it.
One of the best animes of all time in my opinion. It has a very serious theme, but yet has comic relief as well. Has many many sad parts that are contrasted by many good times. It has plenty of action sequences that keep me very entertained. It is a well balanced show.I remember watching this when I was younger on Adult Swim, but I never really noticed how truly wonderful this show was until I bought the boxset and saw it again. The only thing that could have used some work was the animation, but then again the series has been out for quite some time. I highly recommend this series to all anime fans and newcomers as well.
I enjoyed this show much. Laughed a lot. Good bit of some mystery, mostly action. Like the plot story. Characters I found amusing and fun.
