Hidden gem!
Most portable dvd players are in fact contradicatory in their descriptions apparently offering great portability yet with limited battery life which confines its use to the car with the charger. The panasonic however is something very special, a great size screen at 8.5" which can be tilted so that it lies flat against itself for use in limited space or when hanging upright either in a plane or in the car (for those that get to be passengers! The colours can be fully adjustable, in terms of contrast and brightness (something which you should know from the start unlike myself , i am reknowned for not reading instructions and assumed the colours were just really bad until i altered them!) and should be played with to get the perfect set up for the film you're watching, they even have ... The sound is also fantastic, you have to bear in mind that this is a portable dvd player and not a full surround sound dvd/tv system as some people seem to expect. If you understand that you will appreciate that this has great sound for its size and in fact has many surprises offering various set ups which bring out different sounds in the films. The most amazing aspect of this little gem is the battery life of 12 hours, this is on the limited settings and utilizing headphones (which is after all perfect for planes and trains to help block out any annoying noises) and even on full settings can last about 8 hours. Fantastic considering sony models in the same price category offer a maximum of 6 hours (which would probably equate to a realistic 4 hours!) All in all a fantastic looking and great fun, easy to use product, small downside may be the lack of a remote but the long battery life counteracts this negative point.
