The Archos 43 Vision is a slim, lightweight solution for anyone who wants a portable video and music player. The Archos digital media player runs on a stripped down Android platform that includes a wide variety of applications beyond the standard music/video player and photo viewer. This portable video and music player offers 8 GB of storage and can hold up to 2,000 songs or about a dozen full-length DVD quality movies. It also has a micro-SD card slot that can add up to an additional 32 GB of storage. The Archos 43 Vision features a 10.9-cm resistive touchscreen with a maximum video resolution of 480x272 pixels as well as a built-in equaliser and a digital voice recorder. The Archos digital media player supports the MPEG-4, WMV, and AVI video formats; the GIF, JPEG, and BMP photo files; and the MP3, WMA, AAC, APE, FLAC, and OGC audio formats. Its lithium-ion battery provides up to six hours of operational life. At only 280 g and with the dimensions of 11.2 cm x 0.99 cm x 7.3 cm, the Archos 43 Vision is small enough to fit into a trouser pocket with enough power to play DVD quality video.

Good battery life and great sound , I am very happy with it ,buy and enjoy
I am very pleased with this item . The battery life is good which is the main reason I bought it . The touch screen is a bit ' iffy ' but I always get where I want , just patience required and I quite like the ' querkiness ' as most new stuff these days have no character . I also am happy with the sound quality ... all in all , I like it ! Large size also means it's never lost .... Trevor King .I am very pleased with this item . The battery life is good which is the main reason I bought it . The touch screen is a bit ' iffy ' but I always get where I want , just patience required and I quite like the ' querkiness ' as most new stuff these days have no character . very easy to use, just plug in and drop files to device. excellent sound quality even with headphones provided, video quality excellent only viewed pre-installed file not put my own on yet. Good compact size, quality finish, a nice bit of weight to it dosen't feel cheap has a quality feel , and plenty of play time before you have to re-charge battery. Excellent device for a very cheap price £60. screen easy to navigate just need to get used to where you need to touch on icons.very easy to use, just plug in and drop files to device. excellent sound quality even with headphones provided, video quality excellent only viewed pre-installed file not put my own on yet. Archos 43 vision 8GB digital media player. Firmware version 1.19 It is a quite nice, handy device, measuring 4.3 inches in diagonal and some great features. Great price to performance ratio. However, there are still some flaws present which one may find very important. The included headphones are very good quality. You can really enjoy your music or movies on the way with high quality sound. The screen quality is also very good quality so watching movies on the move is really enjoyable. Built-in speakers also give reasonable quality sound; the output level is nice for the size of such device. The touch screen is not very great. It can sometimes become a bit naggy, however it is not too bad - you just have to get used to it a bit. As said in description, it plays videos, music and ... As said in description, it plays videos, music and gives ability to watch photos and record sound, as well as read simple text files. It is basically true, however some limitations are present. Videos The device plays .avi (MPEG4), .wmv, .3gp, .flv, .mpg, .rm, .rmvb files. And although the manual says ". Resolution must be equal or less than 800x480, 25fps and a bitrate of 1.5 Mb/s", it is not completely true - for longer video files, the resolution and/or bitrate has to be even lower than that. However, it is not a big problem, since it plays long videos encoded for a lower quality. For me, Xvid encoded 480x272 (native screen resolution) 24.97 fps and 900 Kbps works perfect. Smaller video files (~30-40 min) can be played without reencoding. No HD support! Also, there is a (probably software) bug that it's not possible to skip forward/backward (search) movie somewhere after 1h 30 min mark - it just ends the video playback when you try to fast forward. So it's not possible to resume watching after that. So, if you're planing to watch a long video, maybe it's a good idea to encode it in 1h 30min parts Music Here everything is as it should normally be. The interface is okay. It is not possible to change the way folders are sorted - it sorts automatically by date added - most recent going last. And the same bug as in video playback - for audio files longer than 1h 30 min it is impossible to fast forward (or backward) anything. Pictures It is very nice to view photos on this. Unfortunately, the swipe which we all like very much is not supported - you have to just pinch left or right side of the picture to switch through pictures. Overall, the device is very good. Despite some bugs, the device is very usable and it is definitely a good value for money!
