Awesome device for streaming your Slingbox remotely
I own two of these slingcatchers ( one is a backup because they are semi hard to find at a good price) I am very happy with the slingcatcher but the only thing is, I dont get the same bandwidth when streaming through the slingcatcher as I do when i am streaming through a PC,MAC, or tablet, or even my phone. All this streaming is being done remotely from 1000 miles from where the slingboxes are located. When i stream through my computer, i get upwards of a consistent 5000kb/s but with the slingcatcher it seems to only give me a consistent 2000kb/s. I have configured the router and port forwarded everything accordingly where the slingboxes are located. I wish slingmedia would write me back after the countless reviews and surveys ive written them. I have written in the hundreds of surveys and ... This fantastic little box works in conjunction with the Slingboxes. It is designed to replace your PC as the viewer for your programs. It is a set-top-box that connects to the TV via composite, S-video, Component or HDMI. It comes with a remote control that can 'learn' several TV function (volume, mute). The picture quality is better than I've experienced with several PCs (and I've used both the Sling software and browser plug-in). Set up and operation is very simple and user friendly. After you set in your username and password to access your Slingboxes, just power it on and select which one you want to watch. Works as expected. Arrived quickly and correctly. Had to purchase the slingbox turbo internet kit. Wish the slingcatcher had built in internet. Few would have their tv and routers next to each other. Of course, not making the slingcatcher now - maybe developing a new one? Slingcatcher mobile gives a better picture on the phone and computer than on the tv. I really like the slingbox. Highly recommend for watching cable in multiple places with one bill
This is a great product. I am rarely home and we sling our TV cable to my Dad's house, the computer, the cell phone or where ever. The perfect way to save money. The kids can watch TV where ever we go in high definition. My Dad can watch TV in high definition when we are away. It don't get no better than this.
