About this product
Product Information
For nine hundred years the British aristocracy has considered itself ideally qualified to rule others, make laws and guide the fortunes of the nation. Tracing the history of this remarkable supremacy, ARISTOCRATS is a story of wars, intrigue, chicanery and extremes of both selflessness and greed. James also illuminates how the aristocracy s infatuation with classical art has forged our heritage, how its love of sport has shaped our pastimes and values - and how its scandals have entertained the public. Impeccably researched, balanced and brilliantly entertaining, ARISTOCRATS is an enthralling history of power, influence and an extraordinary knack for survival.

Sadly the postman failed to deliver the first item sent, but the seller replied to my query quickly and sent a replacement item straight away. Can't really ask for more than that. Well packaged and the book received was brand new as described. Recommended seller. Many thanks.

SNEAKY postage charge. You have to put "positive" before you can leave a review. However, this transaction wasn't completely positive. The correct item arrived very quickly, BUT was described as postage free. In fact the seller added £3.15 to the price, which sounds like postage to me. I contacted them but was fobbed off with various excuses - it's a rare book was one. This book is widely available, not rare. I don't object to paying postage but prefer sellers to be up front about it.
