The main reason why we do the 3 sides is because we actually machine to order, this insures that the board you receive is completely flat. The alternative is to machine all timber in stock and then leave on racking for it to potentially move in the future waiting for the right order increasing waste. The only cost effective way to do 4 sides is quantities so we would have to stop the smaller orders and most 4 sided planers are capped between 180-200mm width.
