I suppose I'm expected to do that, but how? I'm not sure. I expected it ready to use. Also, the handles are parallel to fit into the packaging. They are too close to the blade to be safe to handle. To get them to the correct position, I will have to bend the metal out, risking snapping. Curious, and a little disappointing.
