Monopoly Party takes the popular real estate game and injects it with new rules, tokens, and properties. The key feature of this "party" edition is the ability for four players to move around the board simultaneously instead of taking turns. Five different themes are also selectable, which alter the properties, tokens, currency, and appearance of the board. In addition to the classic theme, which uses the original Monopoly game board and tokens, players can opt for a sci-fi, fantasy, prehistoric, or an ancient monuments theme. A 3D display located in the center of the Monopoly board will animate as players move their tokens across the spaces. <br><br>Memory card owners can save a number of statistics as part of a player profile, including win-loss record, fastest victory, highest wealth, most properties owned, and other areas. Tutorials offer animated lessons on such topics as Rent and Taxes, Jail, and Buying and Selling Houses, while the Party Mode can be played from a choice of four overhead views. The traditional game of Monopoly is also available, with adjustable rules to help customize each game. Players can set the total number of houses and hotels, whether or not houses must be evenly distributed, whether or not double rent is enforced, determine bonuses for landing on GO, decide on a free parking jackpot, and more.

    Works, but...

    I already owned the game but had an issue: when two players landed in jail at same time, and as they were being flown to jail, the game would lock up. I ordered another disc of the same game to rule out my Gameboy as causing the problem. Alas, the same issue appears. I guess it's just a bug in the software.

    New twist on an old favorite...

    I first purchased this game about 8 years ago. Unfortunately, we were robbed and they cleaned out all of our movies and video games. This is one that I missed enough to purchase again, and make an effort to find. It takes all the fun of the original game, and does away with a lot of the hastle... You don't have long set up and clean up times, and you can still do everything, including customizing the rules. Everything from trading properties, to setting the prize amount for landing on FREE PARKING is still in tact. It allows me, to play with my children, teach them the game, but without all the set up and take down time. It also allows us to play part of a game and come back to it later without messing up a room or needing to leave the table occupied if we need to take a brake. ...

    It's Monopoly - So Don't Get Too Pumped Up

    Let me open by saying that anyone who gives this a rating less than 4 has got to realize they're just playing the video game version of the board game. The graphics don't have to be stunning (and they're not, they're just ok), the sound doesn't have to be crisp and digitally perfect (and it's not, but what do you want?). It's Monopoly - that's it; nothing more and nothing less. If you like Monopoly, but hate the time it takes to play/set-up, or not being able to save, or just hate the bland themes, then this game is ideal for you. Anyone who enjoys Monopoly will enjoy this game. There's different themes which make the game a little different and more enjoyable. Again, if you rate this game low, it's because you forgot you were playing the video version of Monopoly. Clearly, only fans of ...

    Monopoly Party

    I love playing this game with my son. We also like playing with four players. It's fun for the whole family. You don't have to do any dificult figuring or math because the computer does it for you... The computer also prevents cheating too, unlike the board game. Its been out for a while you can probably pick it up used for a reasonable price.
