Warcraft II: The Dark Saga brings the successful Warcraft series to the console world, delivering medieval orc vs. human combat to those that haven't been able to enjoy the PC version. Warcraft II is a real-time strategy game that requires players to build up orc and human forces by building structures and creating units for combat. The main objective is to take control of one race and wipe the other one completely off of the map.<br><br>The console version of Warcraft II sports some changes from its PC predecessor. First and foremost, both the original version of Warcraft II as well as the expansion pack are included. This means twice as many maps and four separate campaigns, giving players 52 different missions split between the races. Other additions include six new full-motion video cut-scenes, and the ability to group sixteen units instead of nine. Also included are extra production options, meaning that if you control multiple bases, it will be easier to maintain one while focusing your attention on the other.<br><br>While Warcraft II: The Dark Saga only features single-player missions, players can create their own maps, as well as use custom mission maps that the game includes to make their own scenarios.

    Good for an older system.

    Good game, but lacks the multiplayer.. wich in my opinion.. since the release of it on the PC with battle.net.. renders this game useless. This version needs online multiplayer compatability to make it on the console. I await the day this game is reproduced for the modern systems such as PS2 or PS3. The consoles need this type of simple, fun, online multiplayer gaming. World of Warcraft for PC sucked and couldn't compare to the early verisons. They turned a great game into a deep mind boggling intense eye straining RPG when they made World of Warcraft. Regardless that one didn't even make it to a video game console eighter.

    The Dark Saga is Coming!

    Warcraft II: The Dark Saga is for the PlayStation and you no longer need to have a PC to play Warcraft II now. This game is real-time strategy and has taken it to new heights just by introducing new concepts that will help make this game more easier to learn, yet challenging to master. The story in the game is about a group of wicked orcs and noble humans who are battling for control of the entire world. Each mission will bring one step closer to complete ultimate victory, and Warcraft II will allow you to join either side. The Playstation version features some extra enhancements over the computer counterpart, making the game play more smoother while eliminating any frustration over completing tasks that take too much time and effort.

    Playstation 2 version of Warcraft II

    This game provides both the original game and the expansion to the Dark Portal. The built-in AI for the game provides a good counter measure to your every move which makes stradegizing a crucial point of this game. However compared to it's PC counterpart I found this game lacking in some areas of the storyline. Overall this game is a collectable and should be taken as memorabilia.
