This is a great camera which I bought brand new on ebay in a lovely rose gold colour and I have had it for about a month. It is user friendly and there are a lot of features which help take clearer sharper pictures, for example backlighting, automatic flash, and automatic focus amongst many others. There are also manual controls for those who are more experienced. The user guide is straightforward to understand and I have taken some good photographs. It is very lightweight, portable and a good size for travel. It is recommended for both indoor and outdoor use. The camera was launched a few years ago so now can be obtained at a price that is great value. I bought this camera to take shots for my website initially as well as family and friends. There is not much I dislike about this camera. This is my first digital camera and I did my research before my purchase, I think it is one of the best.Read full review

GreatIt's been a busy few months in the digital camera business. Most of the major companies have launched ranges of new products this summer, and a few more are yet to do so. One of the first big launches of the season was Panasonic's announcement of the Lumix DMC-FZ18 super-zoom camera, and the FX55 and FX33 ultra-compacts, at a lavish media event in Dublin last month. It's not often I'm lucky enough to get such early review samples, but I've already looked at the FZ18, and this week it's the turn of the FX33. These are brand new cameras that have barely arrived in the shops yet.
Having looked at various comparison websites this Panasonic camera seemed to be a safe bet. It has a multitude of settings to enable you to select a shotting effect that is bound to suit any situation - however, if like me you can't be trusted to select the best choice then it also has an auto option which does all the thinking for you. The process for transferring photos to a PC / laptop is also really simple so much so I was able to set it all up without having to ask for help or start from scratch. I would definatley recommend this camera for the amateur photographer.
I bought this as a Christmas present for my daughter who was disappointed in the results she was getting from her Pentax Optio M40. The first thing I noticed was the very small size of the camera. Despite this, it was easy to use and very intuitive with good menus. It has a solid, quality feel to it and looks very, very smart indeed. The results from the Panasonic are superb. I'm no camera expert and neither I or my daughter will use all its facilities, but putting it in the "intelligent mode" setting gave great results over a variety of different pictures. All in all a high quality camerea with great results. I thoroughly recommend it.
